ST. MARTHA’S CONVENT, YAKKARA

St. Martha’s Convent is inaugurated and blessed by Mar Jacob Manathodath, the Bishop of Palakkad on 11th February 2000. By aiming the self-empowerment of the women of the local area, we started a tailoring centre over here. Many girls and housewives those who can’t go for the higher education by various reasons and not able to find the meaning of their lives comes here and get trained in stitching and become self-sufficient and earn for their lives. Here, we stitch the Cassocks for the Priests, Holy Vestments including Chasubles, Tabernacle Veils, Antephens and all the necessary altar clothes. They do assist in Parish Apostolates like Catechism, Ward Family Prayers and animating people in different age groups by giving the leadership in various associations in the Parish.
